God's been dealing with me a lot on this point lately. I find that the more I immerse myself in His Word and in prayer and in listening to preaching, etc., the less I desire "entertainment". You also have to ask yourself...is what I'm doing stirring my affections for Christ? If you answer is always no, then you definitely need to re-evaluate how you are spending your time.

Good stuff, Josh. While I read the Bible with my kids almost every night before bed, I've been feeling God prompting me to do even more. They ask every night excitedly if we are going to read the Bible, so I think this is definitely a ripe time to implement even more...especially since our older two are getting to where they can grasp concepts beyond your normal Bible stories. It's a responsibility us Dad's cannot ignore.

As I said at lunch and after the sermon. This has been on my heart for awhile as well to the point I was questioning if I was in the right place and visited a few other churches. This past week at falls creek and what we were teaching the youth went hand in hand with what you said and I pray that the church will use this as a wake up call and start moving. One thing as I read your blog entry I remember challenging my small group at falls creek is to be a "tupos" - greek noun meaning to have an impact and/or be an example. We used that word as our main topic at a DNOW I helped out with in Mustang when I attended there.

I know I am in the right place for now and I can not wait to see what God has in store.

"There is no one like our God. There is no one like you God. For greater things have yet to come and greater things have yet to be in this city"
                                                             - Chris Tomlin song God of the City

Thank you for serving!

This is actually Sue Ann Wagner. I know your Body of Christ will reap the benefits in every family's life of moving forward. It will be worth the effort and surely will grow the people and the church as a whole! I will be praying for all of you, especially my favorite Pastor!
